Panthers QB Cam Newton Unlikely To Play Sunday Against Cardinals

Panthers QB Cam Newton is unlikely to play Week 3 against the Cardinals, reports Ian Rapoport.

Still bothered by a foot injury, Cam did not practice again on Thursday.

The last we heard, Cam was wearing a walking boot. He came out of last Thursday’s game against the Bucs with a sore foot and has not practiced all week.

The Panthers will turn to Kyle Allen to start at quarterback. Head coach Ron Rivera thinks he’s ready but has to speed himself up.

“I think Kyle’s more than ready,” said Rivera via Joe Person. “I think he’s got a really good arm, makes good decisions. He just needs to speed himself up a bit.”
