Chiefs, Seahawks, Eagles & Raiders All In On CB Jalen Ramsey

The Chiefs, Seahawks and Eagles have been the teams most-linked to Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey, reports Jason La Canforta. Jerry McDonald reports the Raiders are also interested but both compensation and cash are obstacles.

Meanwhile, Ramsey is expected to play tonight for the Jaguars. Should he be traded Friday (the presumed target date), he would not be eligible to play again in Week 3.
While there have been at least two confirmed offers for Ramsey, the Jags reportedly want two first-round picks for him.

Ramsey’s agent requested a trade following his client’s confrontation with head coach Doug Marrone on Sunday. It’s a situation that has been steadily building.

Ramsey is upset with how the Jaguars use him, preferring to play man-to-man instead of the zone they use.

In an interview last year, Ramsey said his two ideal teams to play for would be the Titans or the Raiders once they move to Las Vegas.

When the Jaguars informed Ramsey they would not negotiate a new contract for him this year, he said he would not be offering a hometown discount next contract.

On Tuesday, Ramsey commented:

“Right now I’m still a part of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and I’m happy about that.” Ramsey said via Pro Football Talk. “I’m focused on this Thursday, focused on being the best teammate I can be while I’m here in Jacksonville,” he said.

Ramsey was selected in the first-round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Jaguars. He’s quickly established himself as one of the best defensive backs in the game and is playing under a four-year, $23.35 million contract. He is set to make a base salary of $3.63 million this season.

Jacksonville picked up his fifth-year option that will cost $13 million for 2020 and will become fully guaranteed on the first day of the 2020 league year.

So far this season, Ramsey has recorded nine tackles, one pass defense and no interceptions through two games.
